A strategic advisor for a leading carbon credit platform

The customer

Series A, India's leading carbon credit platform, focused on nature-based carbon solutions, with global operations across India, the US and Europe.

The problem

A strategic advisor who could operate at the intersection of two dimensions: deep climate and carbon-markets expertise for credibility in US and European markets, and product thinking sharp enough to be a genuine sparring partner to the founding team. This was not an execution hire.

The challenges

It required both global network depth and the intellectual firepower to challenge product direction. Because the engagement was advisory rather than full-time, the wrong fit at this stage carried disproportionate strategic risk.

Our approach

We mapped global climate advisory and carbon-markets networks, specifically seeking operators with proven US and Europe market-entry experience who had also worked closely with product teams in early-stage companies.

How we ran it

The brief was deliberately unconventional. We were looking for a thought partner, not a role-player, and we screened for the ability to challenge as much as to contribute.

What was unique

An advisory rather than full-time engagement, which demanded a different kind of search rigour and a different definition of fit.

Outcome

We placed a rare profile combining credibility in global carbon and climate markets, hands-on product thinking, and the operator mindset of someone who had built in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
